This is an amazingly innovative concept. It's been done before, but never to this extent and never in flash or puzzle concepts like theses.

I have a fairly decent computer and I feel like the controls and the gameplay is a bit slow and laggy. I'm unsure why this is, perhaps the tracking of all the motion in preparation for rewinding time? Regardless, I'd have a lot more fun playing this if it ran a lot more smooth.

The puzzles are excellent. I like the concept of the music picking up beats as you complete each puzzle... but I'm not fond of the music in general. It could have been way better.

Refine the heck out of this game, make the gameplay a lot smoother. Heck, find another engine to run / create this game on and you would most likely be able to market this to VALVe.

It's an amazing game with an amazing concept... but the graphics, sound, and control is just mediocre enough to make me not want to play this.

No preloader. Looked like a white screen for 20 seconds.
No instructions... What's the gameplay?

The instant the game starts I fall to my death.

UndergroundPixel responds:

The white screen is up during loading, but it's now been replaced with a shiny new loading screen!

The instructions are both in the description and in the how-to screen: arrow keys to move, p to pause.

If you fell to your death on your first playthrough, it was probably a fluke. I invite you to replay at least once more and reconsider your rating! It can be quite fun, we've found. :)

Character dies the moment the level begins if you don't press right immediately. Though, the dragon never appears if you don't move out of the space in the 2nd level. Which is odd.

Controls are clunky. Concept of controlling the character is difficult to control.

The most annoying part of it is the dialog boxes that pop up. "Help me! I'm scared!" and stuff like that throws off the mojo of trying to time where you're suppose to land and go.

I wasn't fond of the visuals or character designs. The music is too repetitive and of low quality. Also, nobody needs to see that the game is from "Play Kix" through the entire game.

Seems more like a crappy substitute for an advertisement to a website than a game.

I haven't found an original, fun to play game on this site in a long time! This was uploaded several years ago and I'm just discovering it now, and it's brilliant!

While it's an amazing, free Newgrounds exclusive game... This game is top tier and I highly recommend you rework it and submit it for consideration via Steam's "Greenlight" project! I would totally pay for this! (Especially if the way audio is handled is scripted and can produce a level automatically.)

If so, this could be an awesome alternative to games like "Audiosurf!"

Well done!

Cool game, but could be MUCH, MUCH better.

The concept is excellent, but the game could be much better.

First off, there should be some music while you're on the main menu, reading the tutorial, etc. Some sound effects for menu selection. A cleaner interface and layout for the menus and buttons.

The game play is excellent. However, the game field could be improved by a lot. Make the game field wider, or perhaps use the sort of feel like the animation had. There should also be unique sound effects for jumping and flipping.

I'm also just not feeling it with the background and it's glossy trees.

The achievement system is extremely bugged, and I feel as if there's TOO MANY achievements. All I did was begin playing the game, and already achievements popped up all over the place.

Additionally, if you were going to add achievements, and make a game based off the original animations, you perhaps should have tried contacting Tom or someone else, in order to get access to the actual achievement system. Or, are the achievements in the game new a placeholder, hoping one day you'll be able to do so?

In a nutshell, I love the concept of the game, but I feel the game could be improved by a heck of a lot. They way I'm feeling it, is that someone just got finished with their game tutorial a few days after they've first installed flash.

I'm sorry if you feel that's a bit too negative, but I honestly believe this could be something greater, and I hope you improve upon the game someday.

Most fun I've had on this site in awhile!

I'm quite pleased with this game! A lot of the games that come from the people at Newgrounds and the website owners, are all truly remarkable!

However, this one takes the cake for me! The action was amazing. The progression relative to the movies... It was just thrilling!

Managing having to attack the boss while beating up and attacking other people truly keeps you on your toes, and gives you that "rush" feeling that a game like this should!

With the new medal system in place, this makes playing the game over and over again seem a lot more exciting!

Awesome job!

How is it a game?

It doesn't really seem like a game more than just a "Drag and Drop" creative fest. The problem is with this, is that everything is just too darn small. I couldn't even begin to have some fun in making my own sandwich because I couldn't see where to place what, etc.

Also, it helps if you spell SANDWICH right.

BlueSquareFilms responds:

Drag and Drop is a game, and i fixed the screen size, you're the only one with the 1....so i am not really taking your hate seriously, if you wanna review make it constructive.

Needs a lot more work.

Sound:

The sound was only one thing, and it was horribly glitched if you missed a question and had to start over.

Graphics:

The 3D Link was interesting, but other than that, the graphics needed serious work. It looked like you made it in MS-Paint and just copied and pasted various images you found off the internet. The horrid colors didn't do much justice either. You had several Triforces on the side with MULTIPLECOLORS. I don't see how that's suppose to be an appealing visual effect. You also had these colors on top of a the horrid green background.

Interactivity:

There were only 10 questions. Out of these questions, one would expect you'd actually put more effort into studying the questions first. You also tend to make it clear, then not clear, what the guidelines are for answering a question. For example, you make it clear that in one question that "Without cheating or using a gameshark" but then in another question the answer is the result of a game glitch.

Also, you put "Depends" for the "Which do you obtain last" part... But not even then were you straight about what the basis of that answer was. In your reply to a user review, you said it's possible "with a glitch." Actually, it's possible without a glitch. The 2 dungeons aren't linear, you can complete them in any order you wish.

Overall, I think YOU need to study up on your Zelda, and also practice some flash design... or flash altogether. Make some custom music choices, and a heck of a lot more questions. Also, try using a scoring system instead of putting "HEY, YOU LOSE" and then making you start over from the beginning. There really doesn't let the user do anything but guess until they get it right, getting no sense of satisfaction of what they did, and didn't get right at the end of the quiz.

With much practice, you could do better. Play some more Zelda, practice with flash, and you'll eventually get a decent quiz going someday. =P

Spawn-Level-120 responds:

Ok i understand what you mean. I really don't think that I need to study Zelda since I know ALOT about it. Apparently the questions that relate to glitches was a bad idea. It was only a 10 question quiz simply for the fact that I wanted to get it on NG in one day. The cheap colored symbols come from a font that i have. I did sort of overuse them in pointless ways. But that was to brighten up the game cause i thought it looked too "plain" without them. Cant really do much about the song choice as I just picked some random songs from OoT. I realize that the sound glitches when you get a question wrong and quickly press the retry button. Honestly though I think that this quiz sort of degrades me a little. Like it makes me seem like i dont know very much about OoT when i know a ton about it. To wrap it up I just want to say that now that i look at it the question choice does seem really crappy. When I make the quiz for Majoras mask i will consider the tips you have given me.

Finish it someday...

Glad I could be your inspiration for this.

Anyway, I hope you finish this someday... or at least get some gameplay in.

The text speed could be improved. Other than that, it was interesting to watch for what you made so far.

Needs improvement.

-Needs Soundeffects.
-Needs music.
-Needs a graphical upgrade.
-Needs better maps.
-Needs some sort of userinterface, at least to be able to tell what level you're on.

Please improve upon this and I shall try this game again!

Ages ago, I submitted my first flash. I'm not sure whatever happened to it, but that's okay, because it was horrible. Several years later, I submitted a slightly less horrible flash. ...And now I'm back... submitting more terrible animations!
