The white screen is up during loading, but it's now been replaced with a shiny new loading screen!
The instructions are both in the description and in the how-to screen: arrow keys to move, p to pause.
If you fell to your death on your first playthrough, it was probably a fluke. I invite you to replay at least once more and reconsider your rating! It can be quite fun, we've found. :)
How is it a game?
It doesn't really seem like a game more than just a "Drag and Drop" creative fest. The problem is with this, is that everything is just too darn small. I couldn't even begin to have some fun in making my own sandwich because I couldn't see where to place what, etc.
Also, it helps if you spell SANDWICH right.
Drag and Drop is a game, and i fixed the screen size, you're the only one with the 1....so i am not really taking your hate seriously, if you wanna review make it constructive.
Needs a lot more work.
Sound:
The sound was only one thing, and it was horribly glitched if you missed a question and had to start over.
Graphics:
The 3D Link was interesting, but other than that, the graphics needed serious work. It looked like you made it in MS-Paint and just copied and pasted various images you found off the internet. The horrid colors didn't do much justice either. You had several Triforces on the side with MULTIPLECOLORS. I don't see how that's suppose to be an appealing visual effect. You also had these colors on top of a the horrid green background.
Interactivity:
There were only 10 questions. Out of these questions, one would expect you'd actually put more effort into studying the questions first. You also tend to make it clear, then not clear, what the guidelines are for answering a question. For example, you make it clear that in one question that "Without cheating or using a gameshark" but then in another question the answer is the result of a game glitch.
Also, you put "Depends" for the "Which do you obtain last" part... But not even then were you straight about what the basis of that answer was. In your reply to a user review, you said it's possible "with a glitch." Actually, it's possible without a glitch. The 2 dungeons aren't linear, you can complete them in any order you wish.
Overall, I think YOU need to study up on your Zelda, and also practice some flash design... or flash altogether. Make some custom music choices, and a heck of a lot more questions. Also, try using a scoring system instead of putting "HEY, YOU LOSE" and then making you start over from the beginning. There really doesn't let the user do anything but guess until they get it right, getting no sense of satisfaction of what they did, and didn't get right at the end of the quiz.
With much practice, you could do better. Play some more Zelda, practice with flash, and you'll eventually get a decent quiz going someday. =P
Ok i understand what you mean. I really don't think that I need to study Zelda since I know ALOT about it. Apparently the questions that relate to glitches was a bad idea. It was only a 10 question quiz simply for the fact that I wanted to get it on NG in one day. The cheap colored symbols come from a font that i have. I did sort of overuse them in pointless ways. But that was to brighten up the game cause i thought it looked too "plain" without them. Cant really do much about the song choice as I just picked some random songs from OoT. I realize that the sound glitches when you get a question wrong and quickly press the retry button. Honestly though I think that this quiz sort of degrades me a little. Like it makes me seem like i dont know very much about OoT when i know a ton about it. To wrap it up I just want to say that now that i look at it the question choice does seem really crappy. When I make the quiz for Majoras mask i will consider the tips you have given me.
Needs some bugs fixed...
Well, this was, I admit, fun to play.
However, it got rather boring... especially after the fact that.. well, not sure how it happened, but I somehow was able to gain a large amount of lives. 665 lives to be exact. Now, not that I was complaining, or anything, but this just... sort of... diminishes the value of your effort to keep playing the game, doesn't it? I mean, you could just go on and on and on...
Furthermore, in the Bonus Level, some asteroids can't be hit. No matter what. Not sure how that happened, but, it's true.
Additionally, if you complete a level, like the Bonus Level or a normal level, nothing erases or stops you from firing in advance just as the level loads, letting to destroy stuff before the next level officially begins. This is also annoying because if you're just ending the bonus level, sometimes an astroid will come and crush you when you're not able to move, because a new level is beginning.
Other than those bugs... It could also use:
-Some music.
-Fancier Score / Life display.
-Some more user interface features, like a pause or something, a menu for music select (if you ever decide to include music)
I know you're suppose to get extra lives every 9 levels, but 665 was rather crazy. O_o
Firing after level completes fixed.
The Asteroids that can't be hit make it harder ?
Ages ago, I submitted my first flash. I'm not sure whatever happened to it, but that's okay, because it was horrible. Several years later, I submitted a slightly less horrible flash. ...And now I'm back... submitting more terrible animations!
